Thader obtains the Breeam certificate and consolidates its commitment to sustainability

In parallel, SILICIUS Real Estate continues to advance in its commitment to environmental sustainability. Its Thader Shopping Centre in Murcia has been recognized with the BREEAM® ES IN USE certificate, with a four-star rating, which means a valuation of the property as “very good”. With this, SILICIUS adds its third asset with this distinction: in addition to Thader, it is also owned by La Fira Shopping Centre in Reus and the Socimi’s own headquarters, located at Velázquez Street, 123 in Madrid.

Obtaining this certification, a worldwide benchmark, supposes the recognition of the management that SILICIUS has been carrying out in its assets and specifically in the Thader shopping centre, from a point of view of environmental sustainability and the reduction of operating expenses. With this, it highlights the company’s commitment to the environment and people.

This is the second year that Thader has obtained this distinction, after receiving it for the first time in 2018. Among other issues, the organization has taken into account the actions, works and reforms that have been introduced in the facilities of the shopping centre during the last months, and that have meant an improvement of its environmental sustainability, organizational efficiency, increasing its market value and registering a greater involvement of the staff in those actions of an environmental nature.

This international certificate is perfectly adapted to the language, regulations and construction practice of Spain since 2010. Its name responds to the initials of Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology and is granted as a result of a consensual verification process, requirement by requirement, involving more than 200 experts and constantly being updated.
