Madrid, April 27, 2023SILICIUS Real Estate, SOCIMI specialized in the management of long-term properties with stable rents, has launched during the month of April different actions in its shopping centres to promote culture and reading. On the occasion of the celebration of the Book Day and within the SOCIMI program “SILICIUS’ 12 causes”, the company has opted to promote culture with different initiatives, framed in the cause “Impulse of culture”.

During these days, the shopping centres owned by SILICIUS have become a cultural space in which reading has occupied the central focus. In Thader (Murcia) has been held during the month of April the literary contest “Stories against bulling”, to raise awareness among clients about the importance of eradicating bullying.

La Fira (Reus) has enabled a space for the exchange of books so that users of the centre can share their readings and give a second life to those books they no longer want. In the first opening weekend there are already more than 95 books in the space. In addition, in its commitment to promote culture and raise awareness among users of the different social realities, the shopping centre currently hosts the exhibition “Artistic Couples” in order to give visibility to the reality of mental health. The artistic exhibition, designed in collaboration with the Hospital Universitari Institut Pere Mata (Tarragona), focuses on the fight against stigma in mental health disorders, and seeks to give visibility to a wide-ranging project that claims art as personal expression.

Finally, in Bahía Plaza shopping centre (Cádiz), the SOCIMI has organised craft workshops to raise awareness among children about the importance of taking care for the surroundings and the environment.

Also at the headquarters of the SOCIMI at Calle Velázquez, 123 in Madrid; and in the Square Garden business park (Rivas-Vaciamadrid) they have carried out a campaign to collect children’s books to donate them to the Asociación Hermandad San Simón de Rojas (Madrid).

SILICIUS wants to bet on culture and promote education in all its facets. To this end, the company will continue to promote CSR actions and programs in its shopping centres and other assets of its property to promote culture, respect for the environment and education, among other subjects.

All these actions are part of the new initiative “SILICIUS’ 12 causes”, which is included within the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategic plan. This project that the company is currently developing seeks to contribute to and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

Thus, for 12 months, SILICIUS will commit to and support twelve different initiatives, such as environmental awareness and sustainability (developed in January), animal welfare (carried out in February), inclusion and functional diversity (during March) or culture, which took place this April.

The SOCIMI, which aspires to make its business success sustainable and generate a positive impact on the surroundings, reaffirms its commitment to the environment, society and corporate governance through initiatives such as these, getting involved in improving the environment through collaborations and alliances with different sectors.
