Madrid, June 30, 2021. SILICIUS Real Estate, SOCIMI (Spanish REIT) specialized in the management of long-term properties with stable income, has launched a series of awareness-raising actions on the importance of donating blood and organs to improve people’s health. This initiative has been carried out in the shopping centres managed by SILICIUS, Bahía Plaza (Los Barrios, Cádiz), Thader (Murcia) and La Fira (Reus, Tarragona).
Bahía Plaza Shopping Centre hosted on June 18 an act of tribute to organ donors with the planting of a tree in collaboration with the local government of Los Barrios, the Orion Association and the Transplant Coordinator of the Punta Europa Hospital in Algeciras. These last two entities also carried out an informative action in the shopping centre of Palmones to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of becoming donors. They occupied the solidarity exhibitor that Bahía Plaza is making available to the collectives of the Campo de Gibraltar region and that can be requested free of charge through the website of the shopping centre.
In turn, La Fira Shopping Centre has launched a communication campaign on social networks since June 14, Blood Donor Day. The campaign consists of publishing, through Instagram stories, a series of frequently asked questions about donations to solve possible doubts and encourage followers to donate. Also, next Wednesday, June 30, La Fira will celebrate a day of blood donations with the visit of the mobile unit of the Banc de Sang i Teixits of the Health Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya in which people will be able to donate from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For its part, Thader Shopping Centre of Murcia also celebrated Blood Donor Day with a promotion for visitors with a card or proof of blood donation. For €4.90, about 100 blood donors were able to enjoy a ticket with small popcorn at the Neocine Thader.
These actions are part of SILICIUS’ commitment to contribute to the improvement of society through different initiatives. This same month of June, in La Fira Shopping Centre, the Socimi (Spanish REIT) bet on the education of young people with an event to recognize the participants of the VII Tastet de Ciència, a training and pedagogical project that supports science as a lever for growth towards a sustainable future.
