Madrid, July 26, 2023 SILICIUS Real Estate, a SOCIMI specialized in managing longterm properties with stable rents, has initiated various actions in its shopping centres during the month of July to promote interaction between grandparents and grandchildren, on the occasion of the celebration of World Grandparents’ Day, observed on July 26, as part ofthe SOCIMI’s “The 12 Causes SILICIUS” program. In doing so, the company aims to foster intergenerational connection and mutual enrichment between the elderly and the younger generation.

For SILICIUS shopping centres, these actions represent a commitment to inclusive and valuable leisure, emphasizing the role of grandparents within the family environment. At Thader (Murcia) and Bahía Plaza (Cádiz), various workshops have been held where grandparents and grandchildren could showcase their artistic skills by creating garments and decorative accessories using recycled materials, or enjoying the process of making ice cream together.
At La Fira (Reus), double cinema tickets are being given away to all child-grandparent pairs looking to enjoy a movie afternoon together, promoting joint activities and quality time. Additionally, entries for Aquòpolis are being raffled for the best grandparentrelated anecdotes shared by users on the centre’s social media.

SILICIUS aims to strengthen intergenerational bonds and highlight the significance of older generations within the family nucleus. The company will continue to drive initiatives—aligned with its strategy and CSR plan—in its shopping centres and other owned assets, promoting various areas such as education, sports encouragement, culture, and environmental respect, among others.

All these actions are part of the “The 12 Causes SILICIUS” initiative, integrated into the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategic plan. Currently being implemented, this project seeks to contribute to and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Thus, in 2023, SILICIUS commits to supporting twelve different initiatives, including environmental awareness and sustainability, animal welfare, inclusion and functional diversity, and blood donation awareness, which took place last June.

The SOCIMI, aspiring for its business success to be sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment, reaffirms its commitment to the environment, society, and corporate governance through initiatives like these, actively engaging in improving the community through collaborations and partnerships across various sectors
