Madrid, April 8, 2024. SILICIUS Real Estate, a SOCIMI specializing in the long-term management of real estate with stable rents, has successfully developed its shopping center management and marketing plan during 2023. Its tenants have increased sales by 8.4% in the last financial year, exceeding a combined turnover of more than 75 million euros.

During the last year, Bahía Plaza (Cádiz), La Fira (Reus) and Thader (Murcia) have strengthened their commercial offer with the incorporation of a dozen new businesses and the marketing of 4,675 new m2, and have managed to increase the influx of visitors to their three centers by 8% to 10.7 million people, thanks to their strategy of dynamizing these commercial spaces.

2023 has been a good year for our shopping centers in terms of turnover, visitor numbers and new business acquisition,” said Mayte Forján Arce, Shopping Center Assets Manager at SILICIUS. “The good performance of the tenants operating in La Fira, Bahía Plaza and Thader demonstrates that shopping centers still have a future and, as long as they continue to offer a good user experience to customers, their activity
will be fully complementary to e-commerce,” she emphasized.

By shopping center, Bahía Plaza added three new brands to its offer: PlayZone, Clínica Veterinaria Ávila and Factory Peluqueros. Existing businesses were also renovated, including Loops and Coffee, Mascotas Ávila and the Monkey Ice ice cream parlor. Last year was especially significant for Bahía Plaza, as it celebrated its 20th anniversary with an intense program of activities and promotions. In terms of improvements to the facilities, the new accesses to the multiplex cinemas were completed and a new PlayZone premises was opened.

In La Fira, four new brands were incorporated last year: New Yorker, Drac Ñam, Monterrosa and Fitness Park, as well as new activities and services in the areas of catering, children’s electric vehicles, gym, home and fashion and accessories. One of the highlights of this center was the renewal of its Breeam certification, obtaining a “Very Good” rating and thus exceeding its 2018 score. In addition, at the end of the year, the center was in the process of renewing its EQUA accessibility certification.

For its part, Thader added five new establishments: La Mafia se sienta a la Mesa, Amaloco, Canitas, the pop-up of Calzados Mynuka and Bloomest Laundry by Miele; and new activities and services were incorporated in catering, children’s electric vehicles, veterinary clinic, fashion and accessories, as well as laundry. In terms of investments, improvements were made to the Premium Neocine Thader auditorium, the largest in the country, with 255 reclining seats, 4k laser projection and 360 Dolby Atmos surround sound. In addition, the ice rink, which is the largest in the region, was consolidated and its services were expanded with skating lessons for all ages. It is also important to note that Thader obtained the Breeam certificate, with a “Very Good” rating, and is in the process of renewing the EQUA accessibility certification.
