Madrid, April 26, 2023SILICIUS Real Estate, SOCIMI specialized in the management of long-term properties with stable rents, has formalized an agreement with the operator specialized in hotel asset management Acerca Hospitality for the reopening on May 1, 2023 of the Cala Mandía hotel. From now on, the hotel will operate under the Flipflop Hotels brand and will be known as Flipflop Cala Mandía.

Located in the municipality of Manacor (Mallorca), the asset consists of four different buildings and is a 15-minute walk from Cala Mandía Beach. An area formed by three bays that form three independent coves: Cala Romántica, Cala Mandía y Cala Anguila.

Its reopening comes once the first phase of the comprehensive reform project of the facilities has been completed, which as a whole is aimed at expanding its capacity, modernizing common areas such as the reception, the lobby bar and the restaurant, improve the accessibility of the property and thus turn it into a four-star hotel. This first phase will soon be completed with a second, which will allow to expand the number of rooms from the current 80 to 113 and will carry out a conditioning and updating of them.

The hotel will present a new concept called Boogie, which is focused on a family audience that combines the taste for music more set in the 80s (Boogie Groove) along with Beach activities that evoke Hawaiian and Californian sensations of those years.

The Managing Director of SILICIUS Real Estate, Juan Diaz de Bustamante, explained that “we are very happy with the agreement reached with Acerca Hospitalty, as it will allow us to reopen the hotel we have in Cala Mandía (Mallorca), one of the areas of Spain with the greatest tourist attraction”. “This asset is very important for us, because it has great potential. Thanks to the reform process that we are carrying out, we will be able to raise its level and soon reach the four-star category, thus reinforcing the value of our asset portfolio,” he highlighted.

This operation strengthens SILICIUS Real Estate’s position within the hotel segment and completes other operations they have carried out during the last years such as the acquisition, remodelling and reopening of the Albéniz Hotel-Theater in Madrid, after reaching a rental agreement with UMusic Hotels; or the purchase of a four-star hotel in the south of Menorca and subsequent management agreement with Barceló Hotel Group for its exploitation under the name Barceló Nura.
