  • The initiative aims to give response and visibility to the daily struggle that those affected and their families have to face

Madrid, 20 September 2021. SILICIUS Real Estate, SOCIMI (Spanish REIT) specialized in the management of long-term properties with stable income, has organized a campaign of solidarity activities in its shopping centres taking advantage of the celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day that takes place every September 21st. This initiative aims to launch a message of support to all those affected who live daily with this pathology while highlighting the importance of their awareness for its prevention.

The facilities managed by SILICIUS that participate in these days of awareness of the disease are the shopping centres of Bahía Plaza (Los Barrios, Cadiz), Thader (Murcia) and La Fira (Reus, Tarragona). In all these centres, green solidarity ties will be delivered throughout the day September 21st to symbolize support for the fight against Alzheimer’s. A disease that progresses slowly and silently until it ends up producing the temporary or total loss of memory and other cognitive abilities of those who suffer from it.

These solidarity days will be even more special at La Fira Shopping Centre, a place that collaborates jointly with the Alzheimer’s Association and other neurocognitive disorders of Reus and Baix Camp. From September 16 to 20, the entity will be informing attendees about its social work and will take the opportunity to disseminate the “Cognitive Review” campaign as a measure to publicize the disease and prevent its effects.

In addition, the fight against Alzheimer will also be very present until September 21 at the Customer Service Point of La Fira, where a symbolic green ribbon will be embodied with the firm commitment to support all those affected and their families, especially after the current health crisis situation caused by Covid-19.

La Fira Shopping Centre, as well as the other commercial facilities managed by SILICIUS, have already been present at the commemoration of World Alzheimer’s Day on other occasions. However, the presence of the Association of Alzheimer and other neurocognitive disorders of Reus and Baix Camp, an entity created in 2003 by a group of relatives to respond and prevent the disease, will make it a very special edition.
